Marikina Church of Christ Christmas Camp
Dec. 28-30, 2011
Christian Camp of the Philippines, Pagsanjan, Laguna
" As we gather , may your spirit work within us. As we gather may we glorify your name. Knowing well that as our hearts begin to worship.. we'll be bless because we came. We'll be bless because we came. "
Lord’s timing is always perfect. Lord planned everything wisely. Me as a camper, I really had my doubts at first because I fear, a lot. I fear that I might get out of place, fear my cough gets worse, fear I might do something stupid on physical activities since I’m totally unathletic.. I fear practically everything. I came to the point that all my bags are packed and ready to go, when suddenly, all my fears came gushing towards my system, gain. I got frantic and almost didn’t come. But, as what I said, it is true that God already planned everything. I came, and I had no regrets at all.
Our trip is a blast! We were seated on an owner type jeep with earthly music in it. But what made it more fun, is the people whom I just met making their way as friends. These people can be judged by the way they dressed as ‘hip-hop’. Sure, if you’re a by passer, you could say that they are, ‘bad guys, good-for-nothing, rebel…etc.’ but what had GOD made them? They’re CHRISTIANS! Newly baptized followers of Christ. Though they’ve been sinners before, they accepted Christ as their savior. For me, it made a difference. They are willing to change for the better. God’s power is undeniable. He can change even the worst persons on this world. God is indeed powerful. Amen to that.
So, my fear of loneliness dissolves easily. I made a lot of new friends. <3 Thank you Lord for that!
The campsite is awesome! \m/ As in real nature! It feels like as if, we're communing in the nature. I'm so thankful because I really do love nature. I believe it's one of the greatest creation of God ever. The dorms were good. Everything is in proper place. Thank GOD! :)
Group bondings, lecture and activities are the essential ingredients of our camp. Basically, the topic revolves around peer pressure. Peer pressure, as far as I understand comes in two phases. The conscious and unconscious pressure brought by peers. Conscious, is when you’re aware that you are being pressed but still you choose the wrong from right. Like for example, in my case, I’m mostly pressured on strolling after class. I’m aware, but still I go with them. I had the capacity to choose not to but since my friends count on me, I go with the flow. Unconscious peer pressure is when you’re not aware that you being pressured that’s why you are doing it. Either, peer pressure comes wrong when the act is against God’s word.
I had seen lots of crying Christians whenever we are having a prayers and group bondings. And I’m no exemption. It feels good to open up feelings to these persons whom you know is capable of understanding you. But if feels a lot greater when you’re confessing and repenting to the only one, GOD!
Bonfire! \m/ It’s the best bonfire ever! A lot of confessions, prayers, heart-to-heart conversations, takes place with God on front of fire. I’m so revived! I thank God for that moment, where I feel no hesitation in disclosing my sins. It’s a wonderful feeling. Through this, I believe that a lot of sins were set free and forgiven. Were ready! Ready to face another chapter of our lives. Thank you lord! You’re the best! \m/
Sure, it’s the Breaking Point of everything. End of sorrows, griefs, lust, sins. A new beginning for all of us. It’s a memorable ending of 2011! Thank you lord for the new point-of-views, new beginning, new friends, new me. Lord, you’re truly great! I love you. :D
